With the cost of food rising, you may want to consider making a weekly trip to one of our local Farmer’s Market and starting from the basics.  It’s not just about saving a buck but you can also help boost your daily nutrients as well by using more fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. Most of the local Farmer’s Markets open on Saturday mornings but many of the farmers’ market are also open other days during the week for our convenience.  For more information  regarding specifics on what is sold at each market, the location, days and times refer to www.louisvillegreenguide.org/directory/farmers. Summertime salads are quick, easy, and can be nutrient dense and low in calories based on your smart salad choices.  Using triple prewashed salad greens can help make the meal preparation quick and easy but it costs more – or maybe not because the prepackaged salad greens are completely edible.
